About Rosy

Rosy is a Sydney-based contemporary landscape and portrait painter. Her artistic process is centered on plein-air painting; she creates gouache works on-site outdoors, which she later translates into larger oil paintings in her studio. Rosy attended Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland. She balances her studio practice with her roles as a speech pathologist and a mother of three.

Her work is regularly recognised in major national awards. She won the AME Bale Art Prize for painting in 2020 (finalist 2022) and has been a finalist in the Portia Geach Memorial Award (2021, 2023, 2024), the Burwood Art Prize (2023, 2025), the Gosford Art Prize (2022, 2024), and the Paddington Art Prize (2024). In 2023, she received a William Fletcher Foundation residency at Bundanon. Rosy is exhibits frequently in Sydney galleries. Her work is held in private collections internationally.
